I have been away from the state for a while, is this I-35?
Hopefully Iowans can avoid another news making interstate mass chainreaction accident this time around.
No joke, especially after I ****-talked everybody down here on how they're stupid because they can't drive on snow.
1. Because I don't know either the bride or groom.
2. @Brett44 will be one of 3 to 5 people I know there.

NWS has not updated their graphics yet but their forecast discussion indicates they are now thinking the heavy band of 5-8" will be from CR through QC so a small shift south. The system is now coming on shore so the 0z balloon launch in a few hours should start bringing things into focus a little more.
In your expert opinion, at this moment, would you advise driving from Des Moines to Cedar Rapids on I-80 and I-380 or on Highway 65 and Highway 30?
These comments complaining about snow in late March are total proof of the factuality of global warming. Historically speaking, snow in late March even into early April is totally normal. But global warming has us accustomed to shorter winters, so that when we have a season that is actually close to normal, we think it is unusual.
Most of the storm should be done by then. The heaviest snow will fall over night and most of the precipitation should be moving out by mid morning or noon. Either route is probably about the same IMHO.
Our son's birthday was 2/17 and we had people coming from Ankeny. One family went I-80 and got caught in a pile up and ended up turning around. Another family came over on 30 and had no issue (although they also left at least an hour after the first family).

Oh absolutely, because Iowans have never complained about a snow storm in late March until this year. Very perceptive.
We were all complaing a few years ago when we got snow on May 2nd. Did that prove global warming somehow?
