Your Hy Vee really sucks. :( I was a bit surprised how busy Fareway was at 11:30, the snow hadn't even started yet.

My BIL is supposed to come down to Ames tomorrow morning to ref at an indoor college track meet. I suggested he take off tonight, he can stay here. I bet he will wait until the morning.

Yeah I didn’t want to drive 20 miles to Fareway in case the snow started. The guy at meat counter at Fareway says he hears from many customers that we have the worst Hy-Vee in the world.

Not snowing here so think I'll go out for sushi and sent pictures of it to Pants to torment him since he can't go out till like April or something. ;)

Random thought/question. Long story short my BIL (19 years old, skinny and right around 6' tall) made the comment that he didn't think he could fit in a twin bed. My in laws gave each of their kids a queen bed in middle school for whatever reason. I didn't have anything bigger than a twin until I was married so obviously I made a comment about he could definitely fit in it.

What did you/your kids have?

Well that didn't take long to confirm that he was kind of whiny and I was right! :) @BCClone it is my wifes brother.

Ehhhh....not so fast. If I lie flat on my back, my feet hang off. I had a twin bed all the way through childhood/teenager/college, but I almost always sleep on my side. That gives me the natural inclination to curl my legs up slightly.

Hair: My grandmother was a beautician for 40+ years, and said she'd never seen such thick hair on two kids, those being my younger sister and I. I've come to accept that my hair color can be called "meh". Not brown, not blonde....I have nearly every natural color besides red in my hair. (including white) All of my white hairs are towards the back of my head and on the left hand side. Hair is pretty thick and wavy. My sister's hair is even thicker and is closer to tightly curled. (Her hair is so heavy that it straightens it out) Not to mention, she has super dark brown hair. My niece's hair is probably even thicker than her mother's. Although, her hair coloring is closer to mine when I was younger. Whereas each individual hair of my sister's is quite thick and wiry, my niece just has more hair. It was a workout to brush it when she wore it longer.

Hi, is this where we go to ***** about cold and flu season? Because this has been my week - wife develops sinus infection last Friday. Sunday afternoon is a trip to Urgent Care for the baby, who has a virus (not flu). Other kid wakes up in tears on Monday morning and he's burning up all the tune of a 101 degree fever, take him to the doctor - influenza A. So Monday and Tuesday my wife and I are both home taking care of two very sick kids. Wednesday my son feels better and goes back to school (good. Tamiflu is a ******* miracle drug). Baby is still down and out so wife and I each take a half day off at work where we're both already buried from missing the prior two days. I wake up this morning aching everywhere and with a throat so sore my voice is at a croak, and when I go to take out the trash and recycling the simple task leaves me gasping for air and in a cold sweat. Flu for me! This week has been an utter **** storm. I'll be glad when it's over.

You win. We are just working through bronchitis and ear infections and a sinus infection here.

I feel you. My nose is irritated from the cold air.

What did you/your kids have?

Twin beds are plenty roomy for one person IMO. Pretty sure all I had was a single growing up.

Get well soon @jbindm .

Roads were fine till the last 50 miles from home still weren't terrible but definitely slow down and watch for the other guy driving. about 6pm came up behind a car with no taillights:eek:. Newer looking car also so not sure what was going on, hard to know if your tail lights don't work though.

JFC is all NBC going to have on tonight is ice skating back to pbs.

Hair talk I can still Fro it out if I want to usually grow it out in winter, this yr I've kept it short.

Good thing is it really helps the Fareway's store business (probably).

That just sucks, hope all are better soon.

Hope baby doesn’t have that RSV virus, that is scary crap. Oldest spent a week in ICU with it when he was two months old. They also did a spinal tap on him to make sure it wasn’t meningitis.

Yeah husband has to watch all the Olympic junk. One of those skater dudes, Nathan something, I am already sick of the hype. The Trae Young of the Olympics. So I am proofreading homework.

Wonder if those tail lights covered with snow or brine from road?

Pretty sure electrical problem, they were just pitch black and not super dim. My headlights yesterday were atrocious till I washed them off.

Yes many college age or younger women can be high drama, but there's something extra about redheads for some reason. No offense to my favorite orange orangutan.

I had some brunette and blonde girlfriends who were, for the most part, stable. Not so with redheads. Maybe it's a rarity issue.
'sokay. Mine's not orange. It's auburn. PapaLew's was orange when he was young, though, and shout out to Carvers' son - PapaLew also has blue eyes. Mine are green.

Olympics are on already? I was watching Tank Girl and Lori Perry. Well, it actually sucks but the Rippers are cool as ****.

I'm probably in the minority, but I shop Hy-Vee almost exclusively. Ours is huge - well-lit, aisles are wide, they have 12 registers plus the express lines, so hardly ever much of a wait.

As someone who has been in retail for the last 35+ years, I am always impressed by how well they train their employees. I have never had a bad experience with any Hy-Vee employee, plus they will always greet you, giving you a chance to ask a question or start a conversation.
