So is the $2.4 million payout split among both teams in the liberty bowl? or do both teams get that? or only the winner?

Pretty sure all bowl games are split between teams or their conferences as per predetermined bylaws. I think all that anyone can really "win" is a trophy. This is suppose to be amature sports.

Memphis already accpeted the Liberty Bowl invite. We could still theoretically end up in Dallas or Phoenix... or even somewhere else

Well, Liberty has next pick. It could be us, K-State, or WV (unlikely TT). Then Cactus in Phoenix (formerly Insight). We'd certainly be their pick if we don't get Liberty.
