This will be remembered as the season that could have been great. We were 6-2 and ranked just behind 6-2 Auburn in the CFP rankings. We lose 3 heartbreakers in our last 4 games while Auburn wins out.

There is no question in my mind that the refs were looking for ways to keep K-state in the game. The holding calls early on were the only thing that kept ISU from taking a lead into the locker room. Then we get no explanations for why the flags were picked up in the 4th quarter. Usually there is an explanation (throw was unwatchable, etc.). For it to happen 3 times with no explanation means that the refs had no respect for ISU or its fans.

All the more reason refs should have to answer to media questions after games.

I'm pissed at the calls by the refs, and typically in a game only 1 flag at most gets picked up/reversed. With that said, OU only has 1 loss and it's to ISU. Wouldn't the big 12 want to conspire to prop ISU up in order to make OU's loss look better?

Just sayin'...

So the Big 12 is so good at "fixing" games against ISU and wants us to fail so badly, that they actively change the outcome of the game when we have a second down with the lead and the ball, and a great chance of getting a first down that would end the game, and the opportunity to make them burn the remaining timeouts is the worst case scenario. If we get a first down, their evil plan is ruined. If we run the ball twice, they have to fix the game when their favored team has no timeouts. All this to help 6-5 Kansas state, while they somehow “let” ISU beat both Oklahoma and TCU in close games, when the big 12 would have much more to gain from those teams winning.

No one will remember beating Oklahoma? Two top 5 wins in one year? A bowl game for the first time in how long, where our worst loss was by 10 points? The best receiver in program history, a quarterback turned linebacker coming up with ridiculous stat lines, and David Montgomery breaking tackles like his life depends on it? All this in a coaching staffs second year ? Yep, completely forgettable.....
So tired of sounding like a broken record, but enough with this playcall. It was not a bad playcall at all, it was just executed poorly. No one would say a thing about this if either that was complete, or the Lazard PI was called. This call did not impact the game. The PI, the non-call on sliding Kempt, the OPI on Lazard when he was the interfered one, the THREE picked up flags on obvious calls, the holding on the first drive...hell there was a holding missed on the GW TD at the end. The 2nd down playcall had little if not anything to do with this game. People will only complain when it doesn't work.

Quit blaming coaches for play calling. it was set up perfectly.

I can't fault the play calling. The pass play ends the game but for the lack of PI. I'm sick of talking about how we could have won. I'm pissed that this is an obvious hosing. ISU needs to get out of this conference. We have been in this conference since Christ was in short pants and We will never get a fair deal.

Wouldn't it be worth big bucks if we could hear the conversation between those idiots during their private huddle when they decided EVERYTIME to pick up the flag. I still can't believe it. You would have thought one of them saying, you know we've picked it up twice against Iowa State we better let this one stand.

Leaving the conference won't help at all. Where would we go? Big 10? Ohio State runs that. ACC? Florida runs that. Pac 12? Cal runs that. SEC? Alabama runs that. We're gonna get hosed everywhere. Smaller conference? I'd like to at least have a shot at the playoffs.

Incompetence and prejudice without question. We’ve been on the wrong side of it twice in the last three weeks

Here's how I see it going down in the Big 12 offices:

Bowlsby: "Hey refs, you know Iowa State has had a really good year, but they're already at 7 wins. I mean, they already know they'll have a winning season and I'm sure their fans are just happy to play for a bowl game."

Refs: "Ok..."

Bowlsby: "We all know Skeletor isn't going to be around for much longer and K-State has more of a winning tradition than Iowa State does. I think it'd be good for K-State to have a winning season too."

Refs: "So what do you want us to do about it?"

Bowlsby: "Well, most of the country will probably be watching the Iron Bowl so no one outside of Iowa will really care that ISU loses, so just make sure they lose. If that means calling a bunch of bullcrap holding penalties, picking up flags against the Wildcats, do what you need to do."

Refs: "You got it!"

This is the best post so far. Nice job. LMAO

Censure the refs? Dream on. They will get a raise. They did their job - the right team won the game.

If I was Campbell, I would get out of here. Why even try when the games are blatantly fixed?
Agreed. We will never be able to keep a decent coach here. Why fight the BS. How did kstate keep the vampire in that sh$$ hole for that long

It started with 3 holding calls on our first drive... Did you watch the right game? I knew before they even huddled that they were picking up the flag for PI on Lazard. It was obvious.

ISU has to win a game by the f'ing touchdowns to actually come out ahead on the scoreboard in this league. No matter what this team does, the refs (the conference) will always make sure the right team wins. How many times you have to see this happen?
There are things we could have done to win. For example, how about playing some defense in KState's last drive.

Of course there are things we could've done. There are things we could've done to beat Oklahoma State, there are things we could've done to beat Oklahoma by more. But this is an 11 on 11 sport, with over 100 plays being ran with complicated details for each player to remember. The name of the game is whichever team makes fewer and less impactful mistakes during those plays is probably going to win the game. However, how do we know which team is going to make fewer mistakes when the refs fail to penalize one side half the time for their mistakes, and penalize the other side when they don't make them?
