What's scary about this is that I didn't like oatmeal for about 35 years. Recently, I've started liking oatmeal again. I may as well just book a long-term bed at Sunnyside Acres right now. My hip hurts. Where are my glasses? These kids these days with their music and clothes. Stay off my yard!
Once you hit a certain age you'll magically know how to play Canasta.

Yep....the vixen had me put all her geraniums in the storage room last night, plus she pulled her mint plant and hen and chicks inside too. Picked the last of the bell peppers - and there were a LOT of them! - and also remembered to unhook the hoses from the outside faucets. Winter's coming.......
That is one busy 7 year old!

Oh man nothing like a little Coast to Coast with George Norrey (even though I think he might be retired). Couple of hours of that is a broadening experience lots of interesting people in the world.

Art Bell > George Noorey

And a USC fan joined us in the bar rooting on the Cyclones.

Growing up as a Notre Dame fan, I'm REALLY conflicted about this.

I actually like his guest hosts Richard Syrette, George Knapp, and Dave Schrader as well as I like Noory, but I'll give you the Art>George argument. Connie Willis I can pass on.

Last night, the daughter and I went to a presentation about highly selective colleges. Here are our reviews of the 5 college interviewers/recruiters:

ND - Presenter seemed pretty good but was pretty much the cliche of a ND alumni - Somewhat overweight and wearing a bright green ND sweater. Looked like he just came from a football game.

MIT - Overly nerdy. It was cool that her husband's (she met her spouse at MIT) college roommate has won a Nobel Prize, though.

Dartmouth - Coolest guy. Not sure if she'd like to go to school in the wilderness of New Hampshire, though.

Northwestern - Very awkward and boring presenter.

Yale - Liked to hear himself talk.

Those scorpion suckers frighten me. I would never try one, but if I did, I know that as soon as I got to the middle the scorpion would start moving around and sting me right in the lip and, boom, there goes my modeling career.

The California guys thought it was really funny when my dad got stung by a scorpion in the middle of the night while on army training maneuvers in the Mojave Desert back in WWII. My dad did not find it as funny. o_O

I love oatmeal and always have. I eat it every day, sometimes for lunch lol. I'm not a big fan of that overnight refrigerator oatmeal but will do that if I think morning is going to be a clusterfuck. And it is a good way to get me to eat other stuff that is good for you which I probably wouldn't otherwise, like cinnamon, blueberries, ground flax seed, walnuts, etc. My kids had me add peanut butter to it when they were trying to help me bulk up.

So, if I have a really long posting gap it might mean I fell off the roof and am totes ded. Weather forecast indicates that I need to do my semi-annual roof cleaning walkabout climb today.

Such many leaves, such many.

Lol we were there for Notre Dame. Husband had never seen the USC game. As a student, he was studying abroad (no, not a broad) the year they were in South Bend when he was a student. Plus, they have changed ticket sales so it was easier for us to get seven together for the game. But all the USC people we met were actually pretty nice (and I hate USC lol). Bonus: Chicago played "Saturday in the Park" and "25 or 6 to 4" with the marching band at half.

You learn to shake out your shoes before putting them on if you spend much time in the Hill Country of Texas...

Sounds par for the course. We all really liked our campus visit to MIT except the oldest kid who was actually the one picking a college at the time.
