hey now, they at least have a college choice. It's ISU or the UW, assuming the UW is still a top tier school at that point  DH is with me on this one.
Um. There's a top-of-the-line truck driving school in Sun Prairie. It was the preferred school that we recruited from when I worked for a trucking company. Cooler may have knowledge of it and be able to back me up on that one.

If that was taken in the 50's or 60's there would be a good chance he was.

I'm not sure if younger people realize just how much people smoked back then. We used to get candy cigarettes at Halloween. I think my Mom and Dad were about the only adults I knew growing up that didn't smoke. Maybe three others didn't. Going to the neighbors was like going to Dean Martins house. Everyone had a cigarette in one hand and a drink in the other.
A neighbor recently went to a huge candy store that still sells candy cigarettes. She handed them out to a bunch of neighbor kids and sent us all pictures.

I was surprised to learn they still had candy cigarettes. They screamed that Joe Camel was marketed for kids but never said anything about the product that is actually marketed towards kids?

This candy store is big enough that they could have been left over from 1982 or imported from the Middle East.

My favorites were the chocolate cigarettes. Wrapped in a white waxy paper that was tan on one end to look like a filter.
Ahhh the good ole days

We used to get those from Fannie Mae and they came in a plastic case that folded in half. They were expensive so we only got them a couple of times.

Isn't that the house loan people? Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, her sister sallie for student loans.

The regulars tasted like sugar and caulk. They were awful.

Talk about different times, there were occasions as a small boy that I would go to the corner store (two doors down from us) and get a pack of cigarettes for my dad. It was a standard errand like going to get a loaf of Wonderbread. Another neighborhood kid was in their once when that was happening and he asked why he couldn't buy cigarettes like that. Remember the store lady telling him "Because little Boxstercy isn't going to smoke those and you would!". Never did smoke and at some point when I was a kid my dad just stopped. I see old pics of my mom smoking but I think everyone did during and right after WWII.

So cold and dark outside. Should probably throw that Byerlys apple pie in the oven before it freezer burns in the freezer. Yup, all about that not wastin' food.

Random observation, U.S. Postal Service is working my carrier hard. She didn't get to my place till like 5:30. She had a little headlight strapped to her cap. She said, start in the dark, finish in the dark. Long cold day for her.

Well I baked an angel food cake, for the same reason. Be sure to pick up another one the next time you're at Byerly's don't want to be low on food in those harsh Mn. winters.

No worries, I have a couple cases of wine in the cellar and lots of bachelor chow on hand. Haven't left the house in days. Will venture out tomorrow for a Christmas party.

It is actor and actress award season! Can't wait to see who has the most street cred and what cycle we are in this year. They are such nice people.
