Who do you want to see in the big 12?

Give me Memphis, Cincy, and a Colorado school. If CU wants back in great. I know a lot of you dont like CSU, but living out here I think they could make it work. They're building a new smaller stadium and I think they fans could get behind being in the Big 12. Regardless, I need more ISU in CO! As for a 4th team... Make it someone fun please.

If just two schools...Memphis and Cincy would be nice. Still somewhat geographically located to the conference which is nice.

Would the SEC trade Mizzou for West Virginia straight up?? That'd be a fantastic scenario. Bring back Colorado; Pac-12 replaces them with BYU.

Pac-12 doesn't want BYU.....they don't want religious schools. They balked at Baylor in the original Pac-16 option six years ago when conference realignment first hit.

Louisville
Cinncinatti
BYU
Either Houston or Pitt for the fourth.

I want Colorado back in the league but that would make us look weak.

Probably the opposite. It would make Colorado look like they made a big mistake leaving so they wanted back in. Could make us look "stronger" than the Pac-12??

Can we get a "Cheerleaders of the Possible Big 12 Expansion Targets" post so we can figure out who we really want?

Would love to see the Buffs and Mizzou back in the fold but I don't think that will happen. After that, I'd take Cincy and Memphis.

Please, no BYU. We do not need any 'football only' crap or any of the weirdness from that part of the country.

I think the latter makes sence. If CU would like to come back to the Big12, It would be a no brainer for the Pac12 to add BYU.

However, I think a Big12 consisting of the existing ten teams plus Mizzou, CU, Cincy and Memphis would make for a great conference and would have a pretty compressed footprint for a 14 team confernce. However, does bigger mean better? Does a 16 team conference with UConn and UCF make more sense?

The other expansion option I think Bowlsby should consider is a merger of the Big12 and Pac12 teams. Four years ago the Pac12 tried to raid Texas and OU. Why not turn the scales and the Big12 add 5-9 Pac12 schools? Bring back Mizzou and drop WVU and that would be a powerhouse conference. IMO the TV value of schools like USC, UCLA, Oregon, etc increases if they play more games in the Central time zone.

Not that they are any better than other options, but why isnt New Mexico ever considered as an expansion candidate. Good sized school in an untapped TV market (Albuquerque), 5 hour drive from Lubbock, decent BBall history, solid research institution (Los Alamos Nat. Lab). I know its not a sexy pick, I just hope that Bob and the BoD consider all options and look for growth, instead of just chasing the current hotness.

Pretty pathetic seeing any ISU fan turning their nose up at other schools joining the Big 12 when just a few years ago we were being treated the same way and could very well be in that position again.

Thank you. The Mormon hate is ridiculous and unnecessary. Unless Missouri & Colorado are serious about coming back, BYU is the obvious top choice.

It isn't about hating Mormons, it is about not wanting to add another school with a huge ego, especially since this one wants to dictate scheduling. If they won't play on Sunday that's their problem, not everybody else's.

Where is this Mormon hate? If people aren't wanting BYU because they are Mormon, they should really reevaluate their priorities in a institution. BYU has solid home field advantage in both FB and BB and has a very passionate fanbase, who just so happens to be made up of Mormons

TV market is stretching it. Solid over the air TV/AM Radio market maybe.

I agree based on the size of their TV market, but NM football has been really bad over recent history.

The problem with a lot of schools being discussed for expansion is they make sense from a TV audience perspective, but not from a home game attendance perspective. Cincy and BYU are the two exceptions. However, schools like Memphis, Houston, UCF, Temple and UConn draw 40k+ fans when they are good, but only 25k when they struggle. Schools like UNLV, NM, CSU have attendance in the 20k's.

IMO any school added to the Big12 would need to potentially draw 40k fans to their home games.
