I've asked this question several times but nobody seems to have an answer. If anybody can answer this.....by all means. I thought that he did appeal and it still is a pending situation. He had a case being that his mother died and Marquette got a new coach.

I think most people assume, it was dead in the water. I think his claim will be essentially a mental health medical redshirt/transfer for grievance emotional distress. Iirc he is asking for restoration of last year's eligibility he burned but isnt asking for lifting the residency requirement (which they have said they wont do anymore regardless). So if succesful he would get an extra year of eligability making him a rs sophmore. His case is he played in 6 games sparingly after his mother died and he stated to the media at the time he had to get out of milwaukee because the pain of his mother was too great he was reminded everywhere.
Usually these types of requests aren't processed quickly (and if Iirc don't they wait to do med redshirt til your senior year?)

Not sure what you are trying to say

I'm saying he is a freshman he is more than likely going to be skinny. Plus have you seen his brothers build. Giannis is only 217 and is doing well for himself in the NBA. Kostas can be 200 by the time he plays a game and would still have the length to do alot of damage from the perimeter.

Is Eubanks a possible target for us in December, meaning eligible this Dec. or would he have to redshirt til next Dec.? I'd say go for it.....depending on Norvell and Long , though, I suppose. Anyone know if we've contacted Eubanks?
(Or do we have to wait for Hines and all his sources to tell us the real inside info?:spinny:)

ISU did have some contact with Eubanks while Fred was still HC, but didn't make his top 5, thus I'd consider it a long shot. Plus Oregon is already the favorite. (Who's suprised?)

@GoodmanESPN: Former Alabama signee Kobie Eubanks strongly considering Oregon, source told ESPN. Ducks could nab another one late.

I don't see it happening. But the reports back in January were that he had requested a waiver for an extra year of eligability not to waive the residency requirement. HonestLY I would agree that is the better play. Why ask for half a season when it is assuredly going to be shot down when he had a legitimate grief issues he was dealing with that made staying in Milwaukee impossible for him. That is the kind of thing that the NCAA can't prove one way or the other and the known facts support (and it appears based on the Marquette board most of their fans even agree as legit). It doesn't seem right a guy should essentially lose 1.5 years of eligability because his mom died and he needed to get away from the constant reminders of her. Letting him use his redshirt year (as a med redshirt) would be a empathetic decision for the NCAA but as always am sure they will look @ what kind of precedent it would set (that they wouldn't follow anyway). http://www.scout.com/college/iowa-state/story/1500535-burton-prepares-for-lull-in-competition

Wonder if we'll go after him considering we have 2 open scholarships as of right now. His rivals profile also said he had a Murray State offer as well FWIW.

@GTuckerHoops: Kobie Eubanks (@kobeeubanks) tells me he has a qualifying ACT score. Could play at a school that is on quarters or come in during December

Altman gets it. Don't waste scholarships on mid major talent. You're better off banking 1-2 if you can't fill them, and then use that in situations like this.

Exactly. So much talent comes about in forms of transfers, reclassifications, etc.

This is only very tangentially related to recruiting but I don't want to start a thread about it. Coach Prohm is always tweeting about missing his wife and son. Is that because he has been on the road recruiting or do they still live in Kentucky?

Coach Prohm talked to the band a couple weeks ago saying that he had just closed on a house earlier that day and that his wife and kid were still in Kentucky so I think they are still in the process of moving.
