Can't say I agree with Pete Prisco, but here's his analysis:

He graduated in 2.5 years? And is working on his Masters? Say wha???
Well, at least he's going to help out the team GPA?
T-Jack is gone. What worries me is that he wont have time to develop. He'll get thrust into a starting role too early. On ESPN they were saying that he should be the starter in three years, which I agree with. But after Joe Webb and T-jack can't produce during this season, are we going to be able to be patient enough to keep Ponder off the field??
Bwahahahaha. Ponder. Bwhahahahahaha. Ponder. I can always count on the Vikings ineptitude to make me smile.
So the Vikings drafted Ponder, good chance they will sign a veteran QB. Do they keep Jackson or Webb as the 3rd QB? I think they will keep Jackson and officaly move Webb to a different position.
On a side note, if this who QB thing doesn't work out for Ponder he can move into the front office for the Vikings. Maybe that is why they drafted him, to run their organization in 5 years.
So who do we take in the second round? My vote is Marvin Austin, considering the impeding suspension of Williams.
While I agree with your point in general, Favre was considered as having one of the stronger arms in the NFL.I have to admit, I don't even know when the Vikes next pick is. Was there really additional interest in Ponder within even the first 20? I dont pay a lot of draft attention but I thought Ponder was always soundly 2nd round. Maybe with three going in the first 10 everyone, including the Vikes started to get nervous, however, there are still big names available on day two. I have to say though, if the folks in the know think this guy fits the system I will have to trust them and wait and see. I have been excited about picks that went to heck too so I'm ready to be pleasantly surprised. Frankly the arm strength doesnt worry me. While I hope its not 'weak', when I think of all the best QBs, rarely is arm strength the number one thing that comes up. Even with a guy like Favre, arm strength is certainly not his strongest suit IMO. For many other good qbs, its even farther down the list.
People have talked about his injuries, anyone have any insite on that topic of looked at his history with injuries that can provide a snapshot?

T-Jack is gone.
Guess I missed that, but either way that only deepens my fear.
Matt Millen called, he said "GREAT PICK". I can't wait to see the Bears safeties five yards off the line against this guy.
