Oh but you did. What I can’t stand about him is his walk rate. He gives in when he falls behind then you see middle middle. Bam 1-0 but he didn’t walk anyone. The other issue I have is more of a CC issue. He’s not what you’d call a bulldog. So when things start to go bad he folds and our mantis too slow to react. That and that shrug he does when he gets ripped like he doesn’t care. He does it post game too.I've never said he was a top end of the rotation guy either and I'm realistic that he has little to no trade value either so he's here until his contract expires. He ain't the only starter that has been on the IL for extended time this year either if you take a look at the current state of the pitching staff.
He's going to be gone next season so can't wait to see who your next whipping boy is after he is gone. I've never hyped Tallion to be anything more than a backend of the rotation innings eater and when healthy he usually does a fairly good job of that. I've never had the expectation that he'd be anything better than a #4 or #5 kind of starter thus I don't hold him to such high standards as you seem to. He is what he is at this point and he's had some productive stretches when he's been healthy but unfortunately he's also had stretches like this season where he's not been consistently healthy.
As for my next whipping boy. I really don’t know. I’ve actually defended guys more than most. Happ should be gone but if we keep him instead of Seya I’d be upset.
Honestly I hope our top four OF are PCA Shaw Ramirez and Suzuki. Having two starting OF that are true utility infielders that both hit gives us nice flexibility. Plus the more pre arbitration guys we have the better we are in line to sign Skubal.
