I've never said he was a top end of the rotation guy either and I'm realistic that he has little to no trade value either so he's here until his contract expires. He ain't the only starter that has been on the IL for extended time this year either if you take a look at the current state of the pitching staff.

He's going to be gone next season so can't wait to see who your next whipping boy is after he is gone. I've never hyped Tallion to be anything more than a backend of the rotation innings eater and when healthy he usually does a fairly good job of that. I've never had the expectation that he'd be anything better than a #4 or #5 kind of starter thus I don't hold him to such high standards as you seem to. He is what he is at this point and he's had some productive stretches when he's been healthy but unfortunately he's also had stretches like this season where he's not been consistently healthy.
Oh but you did. What I can’t stand about him is his walk rate. He gives in when he falls behind then you see middle middle. Bam 1-0 but he didn’t walk anyone. The other issue I have is more of a CC issue. He’s not what you’d call a bulldog. So when things start to go bad he folds and our mantis too slow to react. That and that shrug he does when he gets ripped like he doesn’t care. He does it post game too.

As for my next whipping boy. I really don’t know. I’ve actually defended guys more than most. Happ should be gone but if we keep him instead of Seya I’d be upset.

Honestly I hope our top four OF are PCA Shaw Ramirez and Suzuki. Having two starting OF that are true utility infielders that both hit gives us nice flexibility. Plus the more pre arbitration guys we have the better we are in line to sign Skubal.

Wish the cubs had the capacity to work long counts and stress a pitcher to tonight. They are completely psyched out by his fastball.

I want the Eduarniel Núñez that pitched for the ICubs tonight. Consistently 95-98 mph and nasty off speed pitches that had batters laughing. Most importantly - zero walks.

So tired of seeing a .160 hitter from the right side play every day against lefties…there HAS to be a better option.

Could be uh oh time for Brewers pitching. Woodruff probably out for season, Harrison to the IL and now Miz not feeling great.

It’s only a matter of time. Can’t throw 100+ mph 50 times a start and not have it eventually wear your arm out.

Yeah, guys that throw that hard usually are bullpen guys. Trying to do that as a starter has got to be hard on the elbow and shoulder and not sustainable to keep doing if he wants to have a long and healthy career. Would think keep that 105 MPH fastball in your bag of tricks to fool a guy after you have been throwing him 98 and breaking stuff not just go out there and try to throw smoke to every batter.

Even the relievers that throw 100+ can get burnt out doing it consistently in 1-2 innings work. We saw it with Chapman in 2016, Maddon used him as much as he could and almost cost us the World Series because he was so fatigued with as much usage as we had of him. Still fun to watch guys light up the radar at 105 but there aren't many that can do it throwing strikes or able to stay healthy consistently.

Why bring him back you got lucky last year with him. He was bad this season. Just stupid.
I doubt he sticks around long. As soon as Milner is healthy Pomeranz probably will be DFA. Some of the guys in the bullpen right now are just placeholders till we can get some relievers healthy. Was worth a shot to see if we could catch lightning in a bottle twice with him but doesn't look like that will happen this time.
