***Jack Trice Stadium/Hilton Coliseum alcohol sales thread***

If you paid attention to his comments recently, especially this summer, it was pretty clear that the decision wasn't completely up to him, but he was the one that had to own it publicly.

He doesn’t care to be the bad guy. Some of his statements were a little much, but he’s from Wisconsin. You know he’s gotta be fine with booze.

I mean, theres no reason those who took advantage of that shouldn't be.

Theres no actual connection between alcohol sales and needing to ban people from reentry. Just an excuse to slip in the change.

I do look forward to continuing to see the stadium have open seats after halftime and people finally realize it wasn't the people leaving the stadium at halftime causing it
It's a condition of the insurance to end re-entry. Same thing happened at UNI.

100%. Tired of the half full stadium at the start of the 2nd half.

Just watch though, the loudest proponents for alcohol sales will also be the loudest about losing the re-entry. Just entertaining, ha!

Yep, Both sides of the stadium between the 30's are pathetically empty by the start of the second half.

No connection? I’d argue the reason they have kept it so long was to appease the people who couldn’t go a half of football without a beer. Keep everything in house. Iowa state has fantastic tailgating but that doesn’t bring in money for the AD.

I don't see this as necessarily hypocritical. People want to drink at games. They want the option to go back to the tailgate to "tank up," but they also want the option to grab a quick beer.

I can guarantee you there will be WAY more butts in seats to start the second half. LOL people leaving at half were absolutely going to the lots to pound a couple beers quick. We've all done it but alcohol sales remove the "necessity".

The thing is you can't have both options if you're using alcohol sales as a source of much needed revenue generation.

What does JP know about this upcoming football season outlook that now he makes the decision? obviously joking (I hope) but yea long overdue and love not allowing people to leave. So frustrating especially during big games so have half empty stadium to start 2nd half.

He knows Wendy Winterstein isn’t his boss anymore :)
