WBB: 2026 Transfer Portal

I hope Audi stays, firmly establishes her legacy as an ISU alum, and has her banner hanging in the rafters some day. She is an extremely talented young lady on so many levels. I believe she can have some success in the WNBA for the right team. Afterward, if she desires, I think she would be welcomed in a color analyst role in ISU radio/video telecasts.

Contrary to some, I believe the WBB team can be successful (and entertaining) with Audi at center, surrounded by 4 active guards (Jada, AJ, Hare, AP) with a bench of A Williams and freshman/portal recruits. Losing Addy is rough but mostly for her rebounding. AP has shown she can fill rebounding and defensive gaps but will need to improve her 3 Pt and FT skills over the summer. The rest of the guards have shown the ability to hit the 3 pt shot and, with proper scheme/coaching, are athletic enough to play solid defense.

I hope this is how it plays out but, of course, it will depend on Audi's decision to finish her career as a Cyclone.

No inside info but, it wouldn't surprise me if it did. There seemed to be some tension between ISU and Brown about the injury. She choose to get an outside medical opinion and we don't know if that was in alignment with the ISU medical folks and the whole treatment plan was pretty hush-hush. I do think BF wanted her back on the floor faster than what Brown and her people thought she should be.
There’s been speculation for months Addy was going to be leaving. Entirely possible the medical team she had for her injury were somewhat connected to wherever she’s going with her do not contact

I'm amazed that people don't realize the talent that Addy Brown was/is. People saying she's not a high major player? Are you kidding me? Put her on a UCONN squad where she doesn't have to lead the team in rebounding and she's elite. She will get high major offers and I wouldn't be shocked if she could almost just choose where she wanted to go. Anyone would take her.

And that's what pisses me off the most about CBF... the pieces were there, he just couldn't coach them to win. It's incredible.
Addy will have many options I would guess. Hopefully she gets back to pre injury Addy next season. She is a great all around player.

Every time I see do not contact I figure it's a case of tampering.
There is so much shaddy stuff that goes on even when the portal is not open. First off these players usually are friends with someone they played with in AAU or something that goes to anoher school so it's assumed they stay in touch with some of them and are "hey you should come play with me" messages that happen when a player is considering leaving.

I mentioned this in another thread awhile back but Mark Farley said something during an interview on KXNO when he announced his retirement that he knew some of his players were being recruiting during the middle of the season even which is something that frustrated him because some players already have their foot halfway out the door before the season is even over.

Not so sure Jada, Hare or Williams will be on the roster to help.

Probably like when Jada Williams announced her transfer here. It was like a week after she announced she was leaving Arizona.
Iowa offered her a lot more money than we did. She thought playing with AB and AC was a better chance to win or play.

While many reasons have been floated for all of these transfers, I don't recall this one - is there jealousy of Audi getting all of the team attention, likely including the lion's share of various financial income streams?

Could be, but Audi seems like one of the few that it wouldn’t matter much.

I’ve seen so many comments like the locker room was a disaster- anyone know anything or are just basing this off who’s posting to their IG stories? This team has always been close but maybe that has changed in the last 30 days. I doubt it because they all go on an end of season tropical trip.

During the losing streak there was tension in the locker room over Audi’s lack of effort on defense and rebounding.

I’m all for injecting some new life into the program and I do think it’s probably time to move on from CBF. That said, it’s interesting to look at this season through the lens of Addy’s injury.

At 14–1 and ranked 11th, the schedule hadn’t been overly challenging yet, but the trajectory was mostly positive. It’s not hard to see us winning at Cincy on 1/7 and probably @BYU on 2/10 if Addy was healthy. Flipping those games alone probably doesn't change much but the bigger impact was the lingering effect of the injury on the rest of the season.

Injuries just don’t get talked about enough when evaluating a season. Look at UNC. If Caleb Wilson stays healthy, there’s a great chance Hubert Davis still has his job. Hopefully this doesn't end up in UNC being interested in Otz by the way.
You can point to Iowa’s women after losing McCabe, or teams like Texas Tech and BYU on the men’s side too.

We’re quick to put everything on the coach, but losing a player like Addy Brown, Caleb Wilson, or JT Toppin for a long stretch is basically a death sentence for your season. Even really good coaches can only cover things up for so long. At some point, you just can’t replace that level of production on the fly.

The fact that she’s the physical specimen she is and averages 5 defensive rebounds a game is criminal
So many times when a 3 is being shot by one of our players, Crooks is already getting back on D and not crashing the boards. Always seemed odd to me.

There is a reality to her speed. Give up the chance at a rebound, to try and help defensive positioning.
