WBB: 2026 Transfer Portal

If they all leave then CBF is officially done.
He needs to be done. I would be shocked if Jamie had the come to Jesus meeting with Bill and actually told him he was done.

Bill’s really damaging his legacy at this point

One of the strangest things I remember seeing late in the season her last year here. I walked into a downtown bar and saw her there. Walked up to say hi and chatted for a few minutes. She sat there alone the entire time we were there. Seemed very strange at the time.
She was a good player and a shame she was one of several players that left the team.

I'm ready for the post-Bill era as much as the next guy, but he's going to be here next year for his retirement year. To those who think this "exodus" is the final straw and should lead to his firing - with the four players who have entered the portal, he has lost:

9.9% of points
20% of assists
11% of rebounds
22% of steals

So far, that's incredibly simple to make up in the portal. What we've lost so far should not be a cause for concern at the time being. I will not be concerned about people transferring away unless it's 2 or more of our starters or 3 of our top 7 .

She was asked directly after the Syracuse game - and she wouldn’t commit to it?
That's because she shouldn't have been asked. You don't ask that 20 minutes after a tough, emotional upset loss. Tommy Birch knows better but, he wanted a scoop and clicks as the Register always does

Lexi was definitely not happy with ISU. We spent some time with her (and a couple others) after her last season here. Basketball had stopped being fun, being something she enjoyed and she didn't want to end her college career like that. Lexi felt bad leaving, but knew it was what SHE had to do for herself. I know she was grateful for all the people she met at Iowa State and understood how truly special a place it is. But it wasn't worth losing her love of the game. Do I wish she'd stayed? Absolutely. Do I understand why she left? Absolutely.

It's no surprise that players transfer when fans bluntly highlight the players perceived shortcomings as you have done here.

As I've said before, we need to be aware of who may be reading the boards.

I have a hard time imagining any player soft enough to transfer over what they read on a message board would have a chance of surviving with Bill's coaching style.

That question is asked all the time.

For example, after the Ole Miss game last year:

The board wasn't mad that the question was asked last year when the answer was a positive one.

Random names scrolling through On3.

Reese Ross is an interesting name out of Houston. Put up 22 against us. 6'2", can shoot and slash. From South Dakota.

Mya Babbit from Kent State, from Nebraska. Volume 3 pt shooter, good defensive player.

Edie Clarke just looks like a fun player. 6'4" with solid defense and quick for someone as tall as she is.

Ross played at Utah:

A couple of years ago, maybe. But now, these players are pros and need to face “pro” type stuff. She deflected, which is the correct answer and everyone reads into that. Want the $$? Things will get a bit tougher.
