I don’t mind Bill staying but you have to clean house with the assistants. That will give me a little hope

IMO that is his primary problem. He has to know none of this staff is keeping their job after he retires
Bill's assistants have been with him since the dinosaurs, they're not being let go.
Then bills gotta go if he isn’t going to change anything up. Save 500k on a new coach and use it towards NIL.
I agree. I am not sure Bill is the problem. But a long time ago we had Katie Abrahamsam and Brenda Freese on staff….
A change up would be good for everyone.

I don’t think it would happen, but maybe someone to take over the year after. That doesn’t seem like Bill’s style though.
I watch enough of this team’s games to know that we have an unstoppable 2 pt machine if she can get the ball in the low post. The trade off is that she isn’t a force in rebounding or a threat on D. Which isn’t the big problem which is 0 threat of a 3 point shot to space the floor so the opponent packs it in and shuts the pass to Crooks. Bill is the culprit who constructed the roster without 3 pt shooters with the poor evaluations by whoever his assistants are that do the recruiting. I doubt he brings in a HS player that is physically mature enough that can just step in at the B12 level and produce. He’ll have to compete with other programs that are also searching for a shooter and I don’t think at his age he still has the fire in his belly to recruit.
Bill retiring after this year and Billy getting the job with a total bare cupboard. Nightmare stuff there.
If Billy was going to get the job, Bill would have retired years ago. I do think Bill is willing to go full Bill Snyder and drag the program down just to get Jamie to throw up his hands and hire Billy, but I don’t see Jamie backing down either.
Zero development, it’s time to move on.
LSU Williams that transferred here is a perfect example. 5 star freshman, went to LSU and transferred here. Redshirted, last year sucked, this year sucked. ZERO DEVELOPMENT.
Development is a big time concern.
This was a team that with a bunch of freshman almost knocked off a Stanford team that was nearly a 1 seed. It’s a shell of themselves two years later. Inexcusable
Williams was never a 5 star. She was committed to TCU before Mulkey flipped her to LSU.
That won't happen for 2 reasons. One is Bill won't do that especially to his own son, and second is who is he going to bring in that is any better that knows he is probably coaching this next season then likely retiring? This is something he should have done a few years ago that might have made a difference but at this point hitting the reset button on the assistants is not going to change the outlook of next season. You could probably promote Emily Ryan to an assistant if you cleaned house but who in their right mind would want to take the other assistant jobs knowing that in a year you probably will be on the move again when they make a change at HC?
What happens to this roster in the offseason is going to be key. I heard Jamie Steyer Johnson on the radio post game talk about how while Harris is the only senior on this team that the unfortunate thing with college athletics these days is there are going to be other players leave too. What that looks like will be telling. We have Macy Comito coming in next year which means another guard to the mix. I would not be shocked if Tanke and Wilson transfer to smaller schools for more playing time. We need to land an impact player or 2 in the transfer portal that can make a difference and that may mean committing some NIL money to convince someone to come here.
I think she is a ok backup post. I don’t understand however why we force the ball into her so much on offense other than the fact our only offense is to feed the big girl.
