**** Official 2026 MBB Spring Transfer Portal Thread ****

I assume whomever we get will have the name Lincoln, Grant, Wilson, Hayes or Garfield.
And they won't be "Bush" league players either (not being political, BTW, just adding to the presidential theme/humor).

We need a combo guard and a post that can give us 10-12 ppg minimum. If we could go 3 guards, Milan, and a post we'd be pretty tough
We have plenty of combo guards, Batemon, Williams, Wiggins. imo a point guard should be a higher priority. Right now we only have Toure and Gray who will be a freshman who are true “point guards”.

Also don’t think we need a true post or 5, Buchanan and Pleta are back and Ronaldo-Komlan coming in. If Kiss isn’t college ready then would probably need a Jefferson type replacement.

Need a 3 point sniper and a versatile 4 man

I don’t think we can defend our rebound well enough to do that.

Disagree. I recall Pleta was a late arrival. So this off season is going to be a big development period for Buchanon & Pleta. Get stronger, work on post moves/shot and free throw area jumper. Throw Rinaldo-Komlan into the post equation and hopefully we have a rim protector.

Momcilovic is probably a better defender as a PF vs. wing. Although I thought his defense was a lot better this year. But I expect TJ will create a role for Milan based on his feedback from the NBA. A role as a point-forward might be exactly what he needs to become a sure thing first round pick in 2027. Looking less like Jefferson and more like Niang.

I have no doubt a perimeter group with Toure, Batemon, etc, etc will be elite defensively. Depending on Mitchell's development, if TJ can add a Hogue type wing that would cover a lot of needs and make for a versitile roster.

I would love to get Diop from ASU (as long as he could buy in to Otzelball). However, I imagine he will easily make a mil or 2 from a blue blood or other school with high $$ donors.

I'm gonna guess that Williams would move into more of a Heise role with more ball handling cause you're not not gonna play Yusef at point. Then you got DR-K that's Hasan Ward with a jump shot. Put him into the Jefferson spot and keep Buchanan and Pleta with their rotation. We'll have a better interior presence with those 3 than this year. That leaves finding a 6-6 to 6-8 guy that really needs to be athletic, get to the hoop kinda guy. You got Jackson Kiss or Xzavion Mitchell to choose from if you can handle slower footed on the defensive side but I bet we look for someone from a lesser conference that will take less money so that they can get coached into the next Jefferson. The Wiggins kid might surprise people too. Very offensive minded and hopefully can be coached into a defensive menace but that is tough to do the first year when you don't play hard defense in high school like Toure and Batemon both did. Batemon's high school coach really did a nice job with his defense and Toure is just something you can't coach into a kid.
Williams is a PG, 6'5", good shooter and in this video, looks to be an above average passer. I can see him starting along with Toure, kind of continuing the current team's use of 2 point guards starting.

I think next year is way more likely to be a down year. At least in terms of what we have been used to. Like a 5-7seed NCAA team.

People thought this year could be a bit of a down year after we lost Curtis and Keshon and "missed" on Cluff in the portal.

1.) Let's wait and see what Momcilovic does. If he comes back that is likely a preseason first team All-American.
2.) People forget Toure, Batemon and Pleta are freshman. Those guys could take a major leap. Think Monte Morris or Tamin Lipsey freshman to sophomore year type leap.
3.) Buchanan with another year in the system will be even better.
4.) Mason Williams is going to be pretty dang good.
5.) Can one or two of the incoming freshman have a big impact?
6.) TJ and staff have been pretty darn good in the portal. I trust we will get a really good player or two.

The way our offense runs we don’t really need a point guard. Even when Tamin is on the court he only runs the point half the time. Yusef is coming in and he should help. Another one of our freshman will contribute for sure. Then we will get a portal or two and be fine
