ISU officially discontinuing gymnastics

As much as i think e-sports are dumb, this is a good idea.
Gotta be pretty low cost, seems like NIL / sponsors would be available.
I would be interested in hearing the answer to how many outside reviews by law firms have been done in the other sports.
Tearing down another women's sport in a sad attempt to prop up your preferred women's sport is bold I will give you that.

I’m curious about the storied program. Also, she crapped the bed about the no coaching experience part.
Comparing Fred and Ashley is hilarious. Fred hired staff with tons of experience and he played in the NBA for years. Ashley??? Crickets, just did commentary and was in the business world.
Sooo... the folks at the top had 15 years to figure this out and just... didn't?
I have never been to a Gymnastics meet
We planned to take our youngest daughter to our first meet Feb 6th and then hit the Men’s BB game vs Baylor Feb 7th.
Just so happens that was the meet that got canceled.
must have been pretty bad to Axe the program.

Who is probably sour, and biased, and very possible part of the problems in the past.
No idea what your connection is to gymnastics, but you appear to possibly be just as biased.
Is this the guy who's wife gave him his first job? Also why the **** did he take the job with someone having zero experience?
Is that sarcasm I hope? Our Soccer team is quite terrible.
When you have 16 different athletic programs at the university, believe it or not, not all of them are going to be at the top of the conference.
I will say that I'm glad that I kept my uninformed opinions in check and to myself before I went through this thread, because as of right now, while I think what's going on might (for emphasis) be an indicator of greater issues within the athletic department itself, if what other former coaches have said about it and that coming to light the last few months, at least in this case, with how toxic the environment had become, axing the entire program was probably the right decision in this case.
That being said, some other things I've read make it appear that hiring the coach we did a few years back might have greatly contributed to the problem, and if it was a case of hiring an unqualified candidate on the cheap, well, that was likely never going to end well, even if the AD didn't make the hire himself and just signed off on it. Then again, this is all speculation off of hearsay by me because I've never really followed women's gymnastics in any fashion.

I should also add that with the state that college athletics are currently in across the country, I would not want to be the ISU AD myself... or the AD of pretty much any school, for that matter. When you have Big 10 and SEC schools struggling to keep things in the black - and these are schools that make significantly more than ISU because they're Big 10 and SEC schools - it's quickly becoming an impossible job.
Point being our soccer program has been a perennial punching bag for its entire existence
