Jimmy might have contacts but will HS football players really know what Jimmy will have to offer in the new ISU.

My nephew's son is a 28 recruit with contacts from CMC, Iowa, NE and others. He has no idea who Jimmy is.

The guy has not even been here 1 month and you expect him to be reaching out to all future potential in state recruits already. I have no doubt that after portal signing day he will get to that but he has bigger fish to fry until then.

And even though this recruit doesn't know who he is, I would bet his HS coach knows who CJR is.

If. Iowa State can make it through the next couple of years, I think we come out the other side financially stronger than most Big 12 programs and a few P2 programs. The fact that we are in 17th place in the directors cup going into the winter sports season shows the kind of job JP is doing with limited resources. The fact that even the Big 10 was thinking about a loan kinda shows the state of college athletics right now. Just my opinion.

Not as a head coach. Don't **** on Campbell for doing the same thing Jimmy did and is doing twice in the last three years.
When did I **** on Campbell? I’m probably the only person here who has let it go and wishes him well. I don’t need to have people I’ve never meet holding my mental health hostage. Rogers leaving head coaching positions two times in a row is purely circumstantial and indicative of him earning better opportunities

Directors cup is bull sheet. AD’s need to worry about profitable sports only until this mess is fixed.

Did all the recruits that signed a couple days before Campbell left, back out or are a few still signed with us?
A bunch are gone. There is not total clarity on who left on their ow versus who was asked to leave by incoming staff. We will probably never know for certain on all of them.

I don't expect him to be reaching out to 2028 recruits right now. I'm saying he doesn't have as much visibility in Iowa as you think. The other teams have a big head start!

I am sure Jamie would love to hear where you think we can get this money
Isn’t the largest markup in all of hospitality draft beer?

That can cover the revenue share and any development projects that might have sopped up donor dollars.

The question is how to funnel the excess into NIL?

Obviously there is that Pabst kid transferring in from WSU, but they might need to be creative for the rest.

My point is coaches know him.

And my second is, if you want to go to NE because they "have a head start" go right ahead.

I do hope CJFnR and staff can pull some transfers from other power schools - but the underheralded guys from WSU/elsewhere can be good fits too.

Jayden Higgins started his career at Eastern Kentucky. Let’s see what kind of guys start rolling in next week.

He does in NW Iowa. SDSU has completely locked down that area for all the FCS kids over the past half decade so the relationships are already built. Their HS coaches know him well and he'll expand that after he gets a roster put together and as HS coaches get back in July to get going on their seasons.

There is absolutely no reason to panic here.

Ahhh, the magic beer sales solution.

With all the liability and costs JP said beer would bring in $200-$400k a year at FB.

So less than raising ticket prices $1 or $2 a ticket.

Plus you get the diminished revenue from families and people who don’t want to be around drunken idiots.

Because that’s who’s gonna bring in your real money. Not the dude with a beer with his hot dog…the people wanting 7-8 on top of their tailgate activities barfing and causing issues.

Trust me, the HS coaches learn the D1 coaches fast. HS coaches want to have D1 players come from their school, it’s something that gives them wood usually. Did he attend ISU camps? Coaches that aren’t rear ends (unlike Walden) will have left a paper trail about those since most are online sign ups. That will give an idea on interest. Your son learning about him and what ISU has to offer will happen in a few months.

My son had a teammate who had no interest in college went to no camps but Heacock was hounding him about ISU by the end of his sophomore year. If the players have potential, coaches find them.

It all boils down to Rogers and his GM's ability to assess talent and allocate player resources. Early on this will be almost exclusively from the portal.

We are going to get an early look at Rogers' vision for this program in just a couple weeks in the kinds of players that are immediately brought in to contribute. There will be a lot to analyze there I think. Looking forward to that part given where we are currently at.
