Rocco joining the Transfer Portal

We do NOT want JJ Kohl folks... get over it. And if we do, he'd hopefully be no better than 3rd string for us.

He isn't that great... you should have been able to tell that in HS honestly... which is how ISU was able to land him... not many people wanted him.
I can't wait for people to want his little brother to get recruited in 6 years just because his Dad and JJ went here.

The more I reflect on Rocco the more it’ll be funny if he goes to pedo state. Campbell played him hurt and realistically cost us several games in the process.

Hurt Rocco’s stats while costing us W’s.

I remember one of the 4 where he struggled badly and MC said Rocco played a great game expect for the one interception.

I told a buddy that either Campbell wasn’t watching the game or he’s sleeping with Rocco.

Those were the only two explanations.
I was reflecting on something similar. Rocco had surgery so obviously he was pretty hurt. Leaving us with two options as I see it.
  1. Matt is overly loyal and Rocco demanded to play.
  2. The backups looked so horrible in practice that Rocco was the better option.
I’m hoping that it was option 1. Rocco played so horribly for stretches in the second half of the season that it’s hard to believe Moberly or Manske couldn’t play at least as well.

Y'all realize the portal works both ways, right?

Iowa State is going to sign several kids that spring that were 'loyal' to other schools and the fans of that laundry will have the same reaction.
I understand that, and I don’t like it any more than I like SEC and B10 teams recruiting players from my team during the season and tossing big bags of cash at kids. I take no pleasure in doing the same to WSU or SD St. the field is not level. The game is likely broken beyond repair.

May be true now, but not when he was in HS....

J.J. Kohl was a highly-touted four-star quarterback recruit in the 2023 class by all major recruiting services, known for his big frame (6'7") and strong arm.
Recruiting Rankings:
  • 247Sports: Four-star recruit, ranked as a top quarterback in the nation.
  • Other Major Outlets: Rated four-star by all four major recruiting services.

Sucks Rocco is leaving but next year we won’t be that good anyway. Might as well get a new younger guy used to the offense
I’m not so quick to say we won’t be that good next year. The portal is the great equalizer. Jimmy did a masterful job at WSU under similar circumstances and went 6-6. 3 close losses to CFP contending teams.
