Rogers first meeting with the team

Absolutely. If, say, Rocco and Coop were to stay, that would be a permission structure for a lot more guys to stick around. That said, I’d be moderately surprised if they do, and I won’t fault them for leaving.

Well stated. Although I had to look up "permission structure.". :). Will be using this phrase going forward.

Amen brother...I believe some forget these are 18-22 year old kids and some, unfortunately, just got smacked in the their face a(nother) father-figure is gone.
If you forget that these are 18-22 year old kids you've never listened to Matt Campbell speak. He uses the phrase like a comma.

Rocco needs to transfer, he is the wrong QB to run the south dakota state system, the QB will be running a lot.
Campbell also ran his QB a lot at Toledo and didn’t really carry that over. That said, my guess Rocco will be making a decision based on his NFL prospects. Staying and trying to learn a new offense on a team that may not be very good is a big risk.

Transfer portal opens 5 days following a head coach departure once official. I don’t think that officially starts until Penn State’s board approves Campbell’s hiring tomorrow, but I could be wrong.

Big credit to Pollard for making the hire quickly, but I still don’t know if it needed to be announced in the same team meeting as Campbell announcing he is leaving.
Honestly I like that it was announced then.

Who are you?

You are all over this today, and you joined last night?

Is this a new alternate account for someone else?

Not saying someone new is not welcome, just curious, as you sound like a long time fan, but just joined here, which makes it a little odd compared to most here.
just watched the forums from afar. had surgery so got somewhat bored lmao. had to get involved for the coaching change.

Rocco may have to learn a new offense in Happy Valley too. Depends on the OC. And that’s if he wins the job.

As opposed to transferring somewhere else and learning a new offense? The only place he wouldn’t is Penn State, assuming they keep it as it was here. And there’s no guarantee he starts at Penn state.

Every coach has people keeping tabs on places like CF I think. Shoot we had an AD posting here himself under an alias many moons ago

No matter what Rocco does he's going to be working with a new set of players an offense no matter where he is. Even if he follows CMC to PSU it's not like it will be a carbon copy of what he ran at ISU, it's going to be a new set of guys to work with. If he stays at ISU and keeps a core of "his guys" here he still will be learning at new system but at least it will be guys he already has a working relationship with. If he goes to a completely different program its starting over.

Positive side of me says be a leader and say you are staying at ISU which may have a trickle down effect on other players to stay too. Realistic side of me says he is going to explore his options and leave which I can't blame him. All I know is that I've been a loyal alum and fan and anyone who stays through this I am going to be a huge fan of next season.
