Jontez Williams out for the year

As far as rotational pieces are concerned, corner is a huge liability. That's the most desirable position offenses want to pick on once the starter is taken out. Corner is the last position you rotate your bench with. While we had a pretty safe lead, I can understand the staff not wanting to give up the big play.

Game prep this week will involve a lot of safety help over the top.

So with Cumming-Colman that is 3 out of our starting five DBs out. Taylor, Bell, and Patton are quality players but after that its a real drop off.
I think the 3 starting safeties have been Patton, Neal and James, right? Cummings-Coleman first off the bench?

If you knew Williams was going get hurt before it happened I'm legit impressed and would like to schedule a phone call to pick your brain about some things.
I understood the risk of it happening before it did while simultaneously understanding there was 0 reward for leaving him in. Are you unfamiliar with risk/reward analysis?

I’m pretty sure Heacock will put this team in its best position to win. I’m not sure our defense has ever been ugly.
Heacock will figure out the best way possible to try to compensate. It won't be perfect, but the man managed to get a defense with no linebackers to the big 12 championship game.

I'm too lazy to listen to the press conference. Does anyone know what the actual issue is? Like a broken bone or a more serious soft tissue injury?

Well......he can no longer be the best version of himself do to the fact his knee is no longer the best version of itself. And until the knee tissue trusts it's process.....he will not be able to trust his process going forward in regards to the team's ability to be the best version of itself.
