***2025 Week 2 (Sept. 5-6) CFB Games Thread***

Hilariously he’s stating the opposite of your point. Everything is always a conspiracy against the big12 you have to know this. It’s all the SEC’s fault that Kansas beat every ranked team in a row to end the season. Stock the tin foil

Here's the problem with what you're saying: the talking heads were already trying to talk the Big 12 champ out of the bye and theorycrafting out of the playoff altogether even before KU went on its rampage at the end of last season. That tends to happen when networks like to say out both ends of their ass "oh - 8 teams can potentially win the Big 12 - what a **** conference" and "oh - 8 teams can potentially win the SEC - what a deep and powerful conference"... and if SMU didn't blow the ACC Championship game, and (I think it was) Tulane didn't **** the bed the last several weeks of their season, at least half of that would have happened... and if ASU hadn't obliterated us in the championship game, who knows what stunts the committee might have tried to pull with Clemson or SMU.

15-9 now after Florida sails a punt snap into the endzone.
If the Bulls hold on it’d be hard too feel aggrieved if they jump ISU in the polls.

Crazy to think they’d be in a position to damn near lock down a playoff spot next week.

Edit: ************.

Do the polls really mean anything when we're gonna let 9-3 Big 10/SEC teams in the playoffs?

The Big Ten commissioner thinks last year's Iowa should have been an auto bid team. No hyperbole, that's his amazing plan.

I think Blum stated on a podcast last week that we're playing this road game next week to keep more money to pay the players. I guess it's fairly common to sign a home-and-away deal with a G5 team then buy out of the road game (but not when you want to pay Rocco Becht next year).

He and Ferentz will be attending a retirement home where other old people will look at them and reminisce when they were actually good
I think Ferentz will become the winningest coach in the Big 10 and then retire at the end of this season. If needed, he will get a little push into retirement from the AD. Iowa does not want to end up like Oklahoma State with Mike Gundy.

It would be interesting to see who Iowa would hire for a new head coach. At one time, Chris Klineman was a front-runner for that job.

Why do taunting penalties even exist in college fb?

Every defensive back on every team celebrates like they won a billion dollar lottery every time they're involved in the most boring incompletion even if they didn't do anything, let alone when they actually make a good play. The guy who picked that ball in the Clemson game just did like a full victory lap around the field after he was down.

If we have to call random taunting penalties, can we get the defensive backs remotely on the same page as every other position?

Just do away with taunting penalties.

That’s gonna happen if the playoffs keep expanding. Already half the teams don’t belong in the playoff, expansion just means more average teams or bad teams with weak schedules get in

I think he's already like 12 years older than Gundy.

His best teams were more dangerous years back though because they had good offenses. KF has never overseen anything as bad as where OKSt is now. Big 12 could use OKst playing to its potential.
