It took a while, but the football recruiting trail has officially heated up for Iowa State.

Paul Rhoads added his second tight end commitment in less than a week on Tuesday night by gaining a pledge from Alex Leslie, who stands at 6-foot-5, 220-pounds. Leslie is a hybrid tight end who hails from New Braunfels, Texas. He chose Iowa State over offers from Wake Forest, Florida Atlantic and Memphis.

Leslie caught 25 passes for 300 yards and four touchdowns as a junior.

Just last week, Iowa State added Arizona Western C.C. tight end Emmanuel Bibbs to its 2013 class.

Leslie is the fifth known commitment in Iowa State’s 2013 recruiting class.
