Three-star offensive tackle Joey Ramos has announced his commitment to Iowa State. The 6-foot-5, 290-pound Glendale, Ariz. native made his pledge official Wednesday night on his Twitter account.
Ramos is considered the No. 605 prospect in the 2018 class and the No. 46 offensive tackle by 247Composite. He is the No. 6 player in the state of Arizona.
The Deer Valley High School product chose the Cyclones over offers from Arizona State, Arizona, Oregon, UCLA, Washington, Cal, Kansas State, Nebraska, UCF, Utah and a handful of other FBS programs.
He took an official visit to Ames the weekend of Dec. 8-10 and has long been considered one of the top remaining targets on Iowa State’s board. The Iowa State staff has been in-home with Ramos twice since the end of the regular season, including a visit from Matt Campbell on Dec. 5.
Ramos joins Creston offensive lineman Trevor Downing and Dowling, West Des Moines offensive lineman Zach Ross as additions to Iowa State’s front five in this class. He is the program’s 19th commit overall.
He is expected to sign in the early signing period. Stay tuned to Cyclone Fanatic for more on this story.
