Iowa State (13-8, 5-4) @ No. 3 Kansas (20-2, 8-2)

TV: 1 p.m. on ESPN

Line: Kansas by 11.5

Chris Williams: I will never doubt this Iowa State team’s heart. Gritty guys. They will show up in Lawrence Saturday. They won’t win, but the Cyclones will compete. After all, there are quite a few distractions around Bill Self’s program right now. I like Merrill Holden in the lineup compared to the last time these two teams played, when Kansas owned the paint. The pick: Kansas 80, Iowa State 71

Rob Gray: Cyclones shock the world! OK, no, but really, I see a solid game and a hard-fought loss. ISU will be in this on the other side of the last media timeout. Often, when the Cyclones are good (which they are) a surprise win materializes on the road. It won’t happen at the Phog, but confidence will be gleaned from a close loss. Good times are ahead with a slew of “winnable” games on tap, home and away. The pick: Kansas 77, Iowa State 70.
