AMES, Iowa – Iowa State senior offensive lineman Jacob Gannon has been invited to participate in the 2015 College Gridiron Showcase, Jan. 31 at Maverick Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
The CGS is an All Star football game featuring the top college seniors from around the country. The players were selected by a panel of football experts and will receive professional coaching, mentoring and seminars that will benefit them as they move forward in their professional lives.
Gannon, a native of Iowa City, Iowa, was an honorable mention All-Big 12 selection in 2014. The senior started nine games in 2014 and racked up 21 career starts, including starts in each of his four seasons as a Cyclone.
Gannon, a four-time Academic All-Big 12 pick, was a National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete nominee in 2014.
Gannon is one of three Cyclones invited to play in a postseason All Star game. All-Big 12 performers Tom Farniok is participating in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl (Jan. 17) and E.J. Bibbs is playing in the Reese’s Senior Bowl (Jan. 24).
