Iowa State earned its first commitment to the 2026 recruiting class on Sunday in offensive lineman Mason Bandhauer.
The 6-foot-5, 260-pound prospect and son of former Iowa State player Todd Bandhauer announced his commitment over social media.
Bandhauer chose the Cyclones over offers from Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Kansas State, Kansas, Mississippi State, Boston College, Oregon State, Washington State, Wyoming and Colorado State.
The Fort Collins, Colorado prospect is rated as the No. 3 player in the state in his class, and also slots in as the No. 35 offensive tackle in the latest 247 Sports recruiting rankings.
It’s fitting that Ryan Clanton’s group claims the first commitment to the 2026 class – Iowa State has had its deepest offensive line in the Campbell era this season and has added a plethora of talent at the position since he arrived.
