The St. Louis BattleHawks season came to a close Sunday night as the team dropped its game against the San Antonio Brahmers 25-15 in the United Football League’s conference championship game.
The team, which is coached by Iowa State quarterback Rocco Becht’s father, Anthony, ended the season with a 7-3 record and was one of the four teams in the league to make the playoffs.
Hakeem Butler, the former Cyclone who was named as the UFL’s Offensive Player of the Year, finished with 58 yards in the game.
All-UFL first teamer Willie Harvey nearly led the team in the game with seven tackles Sunday.
Fellow former Cyclone Mike Rose was also on the team this season. Rose finished with 45 total tackles and two interceptions.
Meanwhile, Harvey boasted a career high 79 tackles along with four sacks, making it his best statistical season to date.
Butler was the star of the league, collecting 45 receptions during the year for 652 yards and five scores.
All three players will now prepare for the start of the 2024 NFL season, as they look for roster spots available in the league.
