Former Cyclone quarterback Hunter Dekkers will be continuing his career at Iowa Western Community College, according to a report from Connor Happer.

Dekkers was Iowa State’s starting quarterback during the 2022 season, in which the Cyclones finished the year at 4-8.

The former four-star recruit and West Sioux High School athlete ended his final season at Iowa State with all-Big 12 honorable mention behind 3,044 yards and 19 touchdowns.

Dekkers was ruled ineligible as part of the gambling scandal that originated from the state before the 2023 season, and has not played collegiate football since.

He will compete at Iowa Western for a season before attempting to secure a spot at the next level.
