Iowa State earned its fourth commitment to the 2025 recruiting class on Saturday – including its third in-state addition to the group.

“Really what it came down to in the end was the coaching staff,” Limbaugh said. “I have a great relationship with Coach Rasheed and Coach Heacock, and they really made it feel like home for me. And man, I just see myself playing for them for the next four years.”
The 6-foot-4, 228-pound prospect is rated as the No. 40 player in the country at his position and is the No. 6 player out of the state of Iowa by 247 Sports.
He chose the Cyclones over offers from Iowa, Kansas State, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Northwestern and Duke.
“I’ve just been really impressed by their culture, and what they stand for,” Limbaugh said. “I mean, like Jack trice was one heck of a guy and one heck of a man, not just a football player. And so that’s what I’m really looking for is a program to help me develop into a better man, not just a better football player, and I really feel like Iowa State is the best fit for me to do that.”
Limbaugh became the fourth player to commit to the 2025 class, joining his high school teammate Alex Manske and fellow in-state commit, Will Tompkins, out of Cedar Falls.
Trey Verdon, current Cyclone Malik Verdon’s younger brother is the other commit for the class.
“It’s awesome to be able to know that they are retaining in-state talent and are able to recruit the state that they’re in, and not just look to go to outside places,” Limbaugh said.
“Al is one of my best friends. Obviously, we live about a mile from each other, we go to the same school, play on the same team – we’re really good friends. So that’ll be that’ll be a blast, being able to do college football with him. And Will Tompkins and I trained together for like a year now… So we’re all really close, and we text each other all the time, so it’s gonna be a blast.”
