Iowa State has picked up a commitment from East St. Louis offensive lineman Darrell Simmons. The 6-foot-3, 280-pound prospect announced his pledge Saturday afternoon on Twitter.

Simmons is currently rated as a two-star prospect and the No. 108 offensive guard in the country by 247. He chose the Cyclones over offers from Northern Illinois, Ohio and a handful of FCS programs.

He is Iowa State’s 13th commit in the 2019 class and the second offensive lineman, joining Valley offensive tackle Jake Remsburg. He is the program’s first commit from the state of Illinois in the 2019 class that currently ranks as the No. 38 class in the country.
