Iowa State earned its ninth commitment to the 2025 recruiting class and second of the day Sunday in defensive back Mason Ellens.

Ellens announced the news over his social media accounts.

The 6-foot, 170-pound defensive back held offers from Iowa, Boston College, Kent State and Illinois State and is the first commitment for his position in the 2025 class.

Ellens was a part of official visit weekend in Ames – the first of two hosted by the program.

Iowa State has utilized the June weekends in years past to build the heart of its recruiting classes.

The Cyclones’ second round of official visits will take place next weekend, on June 14 and 15.
