Iowa State earned its latest commitment out of the transfer portal from former LSU cornerback Ryan Robinson Jr. Tuesday.

The 5-foot-11, 180-pound cornerback spent two seasons in Baton Rouge, before entering the portal in May.

Iowa State offered Robinson Jr. over the weekend, and he committed just three days after.

Robinson Jr. appeared in four games for the Tigers during the 2023 season, netting three total tackles.

Out of high school, the New Orleans native chose to be a preferred walk-on at LSU, despite having offers to Tennessee, Ole Miss, Oregon, Kentucky, Georgia Tech, Auburn, Indiana, Arkansas, Duke, Nebraska, Colorado, Toledo, South Alabama, and Louisiana Tech among others according to 247 Sports.

Robinson Jr. becomes Iowa State’s 85th scholarship player, which completes Iowa State’s allotment for the 2024 football roster.

Once at Iowa State, Robinson Jr. will have three years of eligibility remaining.
