RECRUITING: Four-star center JT Rock announces early enrollment at Iowa State

One of Iowa State’s highly-touted commits in the 2024 class will be joining the program a year early.

Four-star center JT Rock announced on Thursday he intends to graduate from high school early in order to enroll at Iowa State this fall. He will join the men’s basketball program as a freshman.

This fills Iowa State’s final scholarship for the 2023-24 season.

Rock, a 7-foot-1, 245-pound Sioux Falls native, is considered the No. 99 player in the 2024 recruiting class and the No. 14 center. He’s regarded as the best player in South Dakota’s 2024 class.

As a junior, Rock led Sioux Falls Lincoln to an appearance in the Class AA state semifinals. He recently participated in the NBA Top-100 camp.

He’s obviously a unique player with his size and ability to score around the basket, but Rock also possesses a strong shot from deep and is capable of playing around the perimeter.

The addition of Rock further bolsters Iowa State’s stellar 2023 recruiting class, headlined by five-star forward Omaha Biliew and four-star Milan Momcilovic.
