Iowa State’s third prospect camp of the month of June is set to take place on Tuesday night, where Omaha’s Pierce Mooberry is set to compete.
The 6-foot-4, 200-pound recruit holds an Iowa State offer and has been on campus on more than one occasion.
“They’ve been really good,” Mooberry said. “It’s become more of (the Iowa State coaching staff) getting to know me and (myself) getting to know the coaches more, instead of like always talking football.”
As Mooberry has gotten to know the staff, Iowa State has emerged as his top target for the time being.
Mooberry has gone on multiple visits to a number of power five schools in the Midwest, but still only has received the lone Iowa State offer.
“I always wonder, you know, if it could happen today,” Mooberry said. “But at the end of the day, all it takes is one – and I have that one right now.”
The Millard North product is being recruited as both a tight end and a linebacker.
His off-season goals include improving in every aspect that he can.
“I just want to improve my (overall) craft,” Mooberry said. “Maybe it’s pass rush moves or just kind of covering tips.”
Mooberry is set to camp with Oklahoma, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Kansas State, Iowa and potentially Kansas as well, over the next three weeks.
