Wichita’s Wesley Fair visited Ames over the weekend while the team took advantage of the opportunistic Friday night Sweet 16 game its men’s basketball squad was in the midst of.

On Friday night, the 6-foot-2 athlete prospect in Fair watched the Cyclones face off with Miami alongside Jacob Imming, a linebacker from the 2022 class, and his roommates.

“I got to stay with him and his roommates,” Fair said. “They were really cool, we just watched the game and chilled. (The result of the game) was sad, but it was cool.”

Iowa State is recruiting the three-star Kansas prospect to play safety in Ames.

The Cyclones, however, will need to outduel Harvard if they want to land the 6-foot-2 ATH.

“It was pretty cool to get an offer from them,” Fair said. “A lot of people try really hard to get into that school.”

Fair currently holds seven offers, coming from Kansas, Kansas State, Harvard, Colorado State, Louisiana Tech, South Dakota and Iowa State, as well.

He plans on keeping his recruitment open through the spring and eventually committing to a school.

“I’m looking to commit to a school in late spring,” Fair said. “Over this time, I’m just looking to make some more relationships and see different schools.
