RECRUITING: Iowa State adds commitment from Florida safety

Iowa State’s 2022 recruiting class has added another defensive back.

Saint Petersburg, Fla. native D’Angelo Hutchinson announced his pledge to Matt Campbell’s program on Tuesday via his Instagram page. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound three-star prospect is the 19th commit in Iowa State’s 2022 class.

Hutchinson, who visited Ames back in June, chose Iowa State over offers from Georgia State, Southern Miss, UCF, Western Kentucky and South Dakota. He is considered the No. 65 safety in the country and No. 133 player in Florida by 247Sports.

This is Iowa State’s third defensive back commitment in this recruiting cycle, joining Florida cornerback Noble Thomas and Texas safety Jeremiah Cooper.

The Cyclones’ 2022 class is currently considered the No. 27 class in the country and No. 4 class in the Big 12.
