RECRUITING: Cyclones land commitment from Georgia PG

After officially visiting Ames over the weekend, Georgia point guard Jaden Walker is going to be a Cyclone.

The 6-foot-5, 170-pound Lawrenceville native made his pledge to Steve Prohm’s staff on Monday, a source tells Cyclone Fanatic publisher Chris Williams. Walker is Iowa State’s first commitment for the 2020 recruiting cycle.

Rated as the three-star recruit, Walker is considered the No. 288 player and No. 48 point guard in the class by 247Composite. He chose the Cyclones over offers and reported interested from Mississippi State, Georgia, Georgia Tech and a handful of other programs.

Walker fills one of the two scholarships Iowa State is expected to have open for the 2020 recruiting cycle, but that number is always fluid with attrition and possible pro departures. Stay tuned to Cyclone Fanatic for more on this story.
