Recruiting Roundup: September 11, 2018

The Cyclones picked up commitment No. 20 this week for the class of 2019.  Cornerback Kym-Mani King (New Port Richey, Fla.) made the pledge last Wednesday following an official visit the previous weekend.  Iowa State offered the No. 169 CB in the class on April 18th.  King had offers from Georgia Southern, Marshall, Massachusetts, South Alabama, South Dakota, Toledo and Western Michigan.  He also recently received a rating boost, up 15 spots at the CB position and 238 spots overall.

Slow week on the trail with the away game this past weekend and the commitment of Luke Anderson (Lakeland, Fla.) last week, which means Steve Prohm only has one scholarship left to fill for the 2019 class.

*** Iowa State had an in-home visit with Dekeyvan Tandy (Hopkinsville, Ky.) on Monday.  Tandy has long been a top target for the staff.  He is also visiting with Tennessee, Oklahoma State, Virginia Tech and Ole Miss this week.

*** Editors note: Tandy has since scheduled an official visit to Iowa State for Sept. 26-28.

*** Iowa State became the second offer for Iowa Central C.C. wide receiver Andrew Parchment (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) on Monday,  the same day as his first offer coming from Southern Miss.

*** The Cyclones offered 2020 tight end Brandon Frazier (McKinney, Texas) on Sunday, joining other offers from Arkansas and Oklahoma State.  The last three offers ISU has extended for the 2020 class have been to tight ends.

*** Class of 2020 linebacker commit Cole Pederson (Leon, Iowa) was rated by 247 Sports composite this week.  He is rated as the No. 40 OLB and No. 533 overall in the class.  Pederson became Iowa State’s second commitment for 2020 on July 25th, less than two months after he was offered.  He also visited Ames for the third time since his offer on what was supposed to be the season opener.
