Jeff Hornacek has been fired as the head coach of the NBA’s Phoenix Suns.

Very early Monday morning, Yahoo! Sports was first to report that Hornacek, who led the Suns to a 48-34 record just two years ago, had been fired.

Reports indicate that either Corey Gaines or Earl Watson (both assistants of Hornacek) will be named the team’s interim coach.

Hornacek is one of the all-time greats to ever lace up a pair of sneakers at Iowa State, where he currently holds school records for assists, steals and complete games.
