Iowa State just added immediate depth to its secondary for the 2016 football season.
According to Alex Halstead from Scout.com, Arizona Western C.C. defensive back D’Andre Payne has verbally committed to Iowa State.
Payne, at 5-foot-9, 190-pound cornerback, was originally a 4-star Tennessee commitment out of high school. He then went to Maryland (where he never played). He then transferred to Arizona Western.
Payne reportedly had over 30 offers from Power 5 programs out of high school.
Payne will have three years to play three at Iowa State.
