According to Rob Howe of HawkeyeInsider.com, Waukee defensive end Anthony Nelson has flipped his commitment from Iowa State to Iowa.

Nelson, who committed to Iowa State in June, is the son of Jeff Nelson, an Iowa defensive lineman from 1988-92.

Clearly, this is a blow to Iowa State’s recruiting class for two main reasons – the first being that defensive line is always a position of need in Ames. Nelson’s 6-foot-6, 210-pound frame was intriguing.

If you do lose a commitment on Jan. 5, you don’t want to lose it to your in-state rival either.
