CF’s Expert Pick’em: Week 12

Believe it or not, Kim Kardashian, we’ve been breaking the internet over here for months…maybe even years! So stop playing copy cat with all of the cool kids, alright?

Anyway, last week was another mediocre to bad week for most of the gang. A couple of unnamed dudes went 1-7 and there was a whole lot of 4-4 showings. The Screaming Eagle took a one game lead over the White Barry Sanders while a few stragglers try to maintain pace.

Without further ado…

Former WOI-TV Sports Director, Dave Zawilinski

Ohio State (-12) @ Minnesota – Buckeyes.

Iowa (-5.5) @ Illinois – Illinois.

Nebraska @ Wisconsin (-6) – Nebraska.

LSU @ Arkansas (-2) – LSU.

Auburn @ Georgia (-2.5) – Georgia.

Florida State (-1.5) @ Miami – FSU.

Mississippi State @ Alabama (-8.5) – Bama.

Texas (-2.5) @ Oklahoma State – Okie State.

Former Cyclone RB, Jeff Woody

Ohio State (-12) @ Minnesota – Ohio State is coming off of a fantastic road win against a good Michigan State team.  Minnesota is coming off of a throttling of our neighbors out east. In my mind, the weather in the Twin Cities will play a factor. I think OSU wins and it doesn’t feel close, but Minny covers the 12.

Iowa (-5.5) @ Illinois – Illinois is that bad. And Iowa is set to play its good game in its teeter totter season. Give me the Hawks.

Nebraska @ Wisconsin (-6) – I’ve had the MCL injury that Abdullah sustained.  Even if he’s playing, he’s not going to be fully effective.  I’ll take Gordon and the Badgers in Camp Randall.

LSU @ Arkansas (-2) – This is an interesting game. Neither one of these is a complete team, so you have to pick the least incomplete. I think I’ll take the Tigers, but not a huge confidence interval.

Auburn @ Georgia (-2.5) – Todd Gurley is playing? Damn straight I’m taking the ‘Dogs.

Florida State (-1.5) @ Miami – I’m calling the upset! Hurricanes by a field goal!

Mississippi State @ Alabama (-8.5) – I think Miss St is legit, and Alabama has offensive holes still. I’ll take the Bulldogs to cover.

Texas (-2.5) @ Oklahoma State – The Longhorns have potentially turned the page. I’ll take them on the road.

CF Director of Sales, Adam Gray

Ohio State (-12) @ Minnesota – OSU.

Iowa (-5.5) @ Illinois – Iowa.

Nebraska @ Wisconsin (-6) – Nebraksa.

LSU @ Arkansas (-2) – Arkansas.

Auburn @ Georgia (-2.5) – Auburn.

Florida State (-1.5) @ Miami – FSU.

Mississippi State @ Alabama (-8.5) – Bama.

Texas (-2.5) @ Oklahoma State – OSU.

Former Cyclone WR, Jack Whitver

Ohio State (-12) @ Minnesota – Buckeyes continue to roll, win by 17 to cover.

Iowa (-5.5) @ Illinois – Who knows what Iowa team shows up. I guess I’ll take the Illinois team that just beat the Minnesota team that just crushed the Hawks. Illini cover

Nebraska @ Wisconsin (-6) – Actually an interesting Big 10 game. Huskers cover in a hostile environment.

LSU @ Arkansas (-2) – The SEC has enjoyed kicking Bret Bielemas a$$ just as much as he enjoyed kicking Jim Waldens. Bielema has never won an SEC game at Arkansas. Razorbacks lose straight up to go to 0-15 in the SEC. Tigers cover.

Auburn @ Georgia (-2.5) – Auburn angry after a tough game last week. Rally to win on the road. Tigers cover.

Florida State (-1.5) @ Miami – This seems like a weird spread to me. FSU wins by double digits and easily covers.

Mississippi State @ Alabama (-8.5) – I wonder when the last time the nber one ranked team was an 8.5 point dog? Vegas is smart, Bama by 10 to cover and end MSUs perfect season.

Texas (-2.5) @ Oklahoma State – Texas starting to figure it out. Horns by three to cover.

The enCYCLONEpedia Guy, Kirk Haaland

Ohio State (-12) @ Minnesota – I’m pretty sure Ohio State may be playing as well as anyone in the last six-ish weeks. Buck. Eye.

Iowa (-5.5) @ Illinois – Illinois beat Minnesota by four. Minnesota beat Iowa by a gazillion. Naturally, I’m taking Iowa.

Nebraska @ Wisconsin (-6) – Cheese Badgers.

LSU @ Arkansas (-2) – Sooner or later Arkansas is going to win one of these games. So, why not now? Hogs.

Auburn @ Georgia (-2.5) – Auburn.

Florida State (-1.5) @ Miami – I’d appreciate Florida State losing, but they won’t. Noles.

Mississippi State @ Alabama (-8.5) – Has anyone ever seen David Ubben and Dak Prescott in the same room at the same time?

54657ed33423c2241755554657ed3344151616e83
I don’t think Ubbs has the arm to lead the Bulldogs to victory, or even cover, at Alabama.

Texas (-2.5) @ Oklahoma State – Take the under. The Cowboys offense has not been itself this year….and also, take the Cowboys at home.

Former Cyclone WR, Lane Danielsen

Ohio State (-12) @ Minnesota – Ohio State.

Iowa (-5.5) @ Illinois – Iowa.

Nebraska @ Wisconsin (-6) – Nebraska.

LSU @ Arkansas (-2) – LSU.

Auburn @ Georgia (-2.5) – Georgia.

Florida State (-1.5) @ Miami – Florida State.

Mississippi State @ Alabama (-8.5) – Mississippi State.

Texas (-2.5) @ Oklahoma State – Texas.

ESPN Broadcaster, Chris Hassel

Ohio State (-12) @ Minnesota – OSU. Beating Iowa by 93 doesn’t make you good.

Iowa (-5.5) @ Illinois – Iowa. It’s simply a gut feeling.

Nebraska @ Wisconsin (-6) – Huskers. Should be tight.

LSU @ Arkansas (-2) – Hogs. Arkansas is best winless conference team in history.

Auburn @ Georgia (-2.5) – Auburn. Tigers bounce back strong.

Florida State (-1.5) @ Miami – FSU. Noles play their best game of the season and roll.

Mississippi State @ Alabama (-8.5) – Bama. It’s been fun, Bulldogs.

Texas (-2.5) @ Oklahoma State – Pokes. Okie State should win with two weeks to prepare.

Former Cyclone QB, Austen Arnaud

Ohio State (-12) @ Minnesota – This is a tough one, I expect a little bit of a let down from Ohio state. But I still think they still cover and win by 14.

Iowa (-5.5) @ Illinois – After seeing the Hawks get dominated last week, I have to think that the Illini can keep this one close at home. Hawks win by a field goal.

Nebraska @ Wisconsin (-6) – This is a BIG game for Nebraska. Wisconsin can play spoiler roll big time to not only Nebraska but this can also affect Ohio State in the grand scheme of things. I like Nebraska to win outright in Mad-town.

LSU @ Arkansas (-2) – LSU finally has to travel outside of Baton Rouge to play a game and I think that affects QB Anthony Jennings. The fighting Bielema’s win and cover here.

Auburn @ Georgia (-2.5) – Todd Gurley returns for UGA, but I honestly think Nick Chubb is a more talented runner than Gurley. However, Auburn can score on anyone and score in bunches, I like Auburn to get the win on the road here.

Florida State (-1.5) @ Miami – Too much hype for Miami , Jameis Winston loves being doubted. Noles by at least a TD.

Mississippi State @ Alabama (-8.5) – Blake Sims is an entirely different QB at home in Tuscaloosa, expect Amari Cooper and the gang to have a big day on offense. But the key will be the Bama front seven getting pressure on Dak. Bama by a couple TD’s

Texas (-2.5) @ Oklahoma State – Sneaky good game here, I think vegas overreacted to Texas win last week against a tired and well traveled West Va. team. Taking the Cowboys at home here to win outright.

WHO-TV Meteorologist, Brett McIntyre

Ohio State (-12) @ Minnesota – Ohio State.

Iowa (-5.5) @ Illinois – Iowa.

Nebraska @ Wisconsin (-6) – Nebraska.

LSU @ Arkansas (-2) – LSU.

Auburn @ Georgia (-2.5) – Georgia.

Florida State (-1.5) @ Miami – Miami.

Mississippi State @ Alabama (-8.5) – Bama.

Texas (-2.5) @ Oklahoma State – Texas.

CF Columnist, Brent Blum

Ohio State (-12) @ Minnesota – Ohio State 31 Minnesota 24.

Iowa (-5.5) @ Illinois – Illinois 30 Iowa 21.

Nebraska @ Wisconsin (-6) – Wisconsin 34 Nebraska 21.

LSU @ Arkansas (-2) – Arkansas 21 LSU 14.

Auburn @ Georgia (-2.5) – Auburn 38 Georgia 35.

Florida State (-1.5) @ Miami – Florida State 30 Miami 21.

Mississippi State @ Alabama (-8.5) – Alabama 34 Mississippi State 20.

Texas (-2.5) @ Oklahoma State – Oklahoma State 28 Texas 21.

Former Cyclone K, Bret Culbertson

Ohio State (-12) @ Minnesota – Ohio State.

Iowa (-5.5) @ Illinois – Illinois.

Nebraska @ Wisconsin (-6) – Wisconsin.

LSU @ Arkansas (-2) – LSU.

Auburn @ Georgia (-2.5) – Auburn.

Florida State (-1.5) @ Miami – Is this spread correct? FSU.

Mississippi State @ Alabama (-8.5) – I want an upset! Mississippi State!

Texas (-2.5) @ Oklahoma State – Going with Okie State.

CF Publisher, Chris Williams

Ohio State (-12) @ Minnesota – I kind of smell a letdown for Ohio State here. Minnesota should have plenty of confidence. Ohio State wins but does not cover. Buckeyes 34, Gophers 24

Iowa (-5.5) @ Illinois – Up and down. Up and down. That’s Iowa’s season in a nutshell. Iowa 24, Illinois 17.

Nebraska @ Wisconsin (-6) – I don’t think Madison is getting enough credit here. Badgers 28, Huskers 21.

LSU @ Arkansas (-2) – LSU 20, Arkansas 17.

Auburn @ Georgia (-2.5) – With Mr. Gurley returning, the Dogs will be fired up. Georgia 27, Auburn 20.

Florida State (-1.5) @ Miami – Miami’s D has struggled against top-notch talent all year. Florida State rolls 31-17.

Mississippi State @ Alabama (-8.5) – Bama has been there, done that when it comes to games like this. These are games that Nick Saban’s program lives for. Alabama 24, Mississippi State 14.

Texas (-2.5) @ Oklahoma State – The Big 12 is such a crapshoot from week to week. Oklahoma State is 0-5-1 ATS in its last six so I’ll take the improving Horns by a 24-21 final.

CF Senior Writer, Rob Gray

Ohio State (-12) @ Minnesota –  Buckeyes too good for untested Gophers. Easily cover.

Iowa (-5.5) @ Illinois – Too big a number. Illini, though Iowa might slip away with the win.

Nebraska @ Wisconsin (-6) – Huskers win, but don’t cover.

LSU @ Arkansas (-2) – Tigers win outright.

Auburn @ Georgia (-2.5) – Bulldogs win, cover.

Florida State (-1.5) @ Miami – Seminoles by a touchdown.

Mississippi State @ Alabama (-8.5) – Seriously? I’ll take Dak Prescott and the points.

Texas (-2.5) @ Oklahoma State – Cowboys in a close one.

Former Cyclone LB, Adam Carper

Ohio State (-12) @ Minnesota – Gophers are scrappy enough to keep this one close.  Gophers.

Iowa (-5.5) @ Illinois – Hawks.

Nebraska @ Wisconsin (-6) – Doesn’t sound like Ameer Abdullah will be 100% and that is trouble for Nebraska.  Badgers cover.

LSU @ Arkansas (-2) – LSU.

Auburn @ Georgia (-2.5) – Georgia.

Florida State (-1.5) @ Miami – Noles cover and it’s not even close.

Mississippi State @ Alabama (-8.5) – Game comes down to last drive and for that, I like MSU covering.

Texas (-2.5) @ Oklahoma State – Longhorns pick up their 3rd W in a row, become bowl eligible and cover.

Former Cyclone QB, Bret Meyer

Ohio State (-12) @ Minnesota – Ohio State.

Iowa (-5.5) @ Illinois – Iowa.

Nebraska @ Wisconsin (-6) – Nebraska.

LSU @ Arkansas (-2) – Arkansas.

Auburn @ Georgia (-2.5) – Georgia.

Florida State (-1.5) @ Miami – FSU.

Mississippi State @ Alabama (-8.5) – MSU.

Texas (-2.5) @ Oklahoma State – Texas.

KXNO Host/Producer, Andrew Downs

Ohio State (-12) @ Minnesota – OSU.

Iowa (-5.5) @ Illinois – Iowa.

Nebraska @ Wisconsin (-6) – Wisconsin.

LSU @ Arkansas (-2) – LSU.

Auburn @ Georgia (-2.5) – Auburn.

Florida State (-1.5) @ Miami – FSU.

Mississippi State @ Alabama (-8.5) – Mississippi State.

Texas (-2.5) @ Oklahoma State – Texas.
