ISU football coach Paul Rhoads told the media Wednesday that starting left tackle Brock Dagel is out for the season after undergoing knee surgery.
The football program tweeted the news during the final round of media availability in advance of Saturday’s 2:30 p.m. nonconference game against Toledo.
Dagel, a 6-8, 305-pound junior from Cherokee, started the Cyclones’ first four games of the season.
He didn’t play in last week’s 37-20 loss at Oklahoma State and boasts 15 career starts along ISU’s banged-up offensive front.
Redshirt freshman Jake Campos switched from right tackle to left tackle against the Cowboys and senior Jacob Gannon slid in to start in Campos’s former spot.
Dagel’s the second ISU offensive lineman to be lost for the season in recent months.
Early in fall camp, backup center Ben Loth suffered a career-ending knee injury.
