Iowa State’s uniforms in 2014 won’t exactly be Oregon-crazy but Paul Rhoads’ program did release details on a minor change for select games on Tuesday morning.
Introducing…..(wait for it, wait for it)……The matte helmet.
“I’m a traditionalist,” Rhoads said in a press release. “However, this helmet provides us a chance to test different designs while staying within the concept of our school colors and brand.”
Also according to the release (that you can read by CLICKING HERE), Rhoads noted that the players seem to like the matte finish.
These days, cool uniforms are a recruiting tool (cough, cough, Baylor) and this appears to be Iowa State’s way of dipping its toes in the water and attempting to join the party.
