Cyclones go ice cold in 77-70 loss to Kansas

Iowa State picked an awful night to go 4-for-25 from the 3-point line.

In a contest where Kansas turned the basketball over 24 times compared to Iowa State’s eight, the Jayhawks still defeated the Cyclones by a 77-70 final.

Kansas’ two stud freshmen left their mark on Hilton Colisum. A guy who many are projecting to be the top pick in this summer’s NBA Draft, Andrew Wiggins, had 17 points to go with 18 rebounds. Meanwhile, the Cyclones simply didn’t have an answer for Joel Embiid, who went 7-for-8 from the floor to record 16 points and nine rebounds.

Iowa State was led by DeAndre Kane, whose ankle appeared to be fine. The senior guard had 21 points with eight rebounds.

Kansas out-rebounded Iowa State 53-36.

The loss dropped Iowa State to 14-2 and 2-2 in the Big 12. With the win, Kansas improved to 12-4 and 3-0 in league play.
