Iowa wins up front, runs past Cyclones 27-21

Beaten and bruised, the Iowa State football team couldn’t stop Iowa on Saturday night, falling to the Hawkeyes 27-21. Despite some late heroics from Sam Richardson and Quenton Bundrage, Iowa claimed the Cy-Hawk Trophy for the first time in three years.

Iowa rushed for 218 yards on 60 carries and had more than 16 minute advantage in time of possession.

The Cyclones fall to a disappointing 0-2 on the season with a tough Big 12 schedule looming. What’s next for Iowa State? Stayed tuned to CycloneFanatic.com for extensive coverage from Chris Williams and Ian Smith.
