It is now official. 

Micah Byars has been promoted to Director of Basketball Operations, replacing Jeff Rutter who left to become an assistant at Drake two weeks ago. 

Byars spent the last two seasons at Iowa State’s Director of Player Development. 

“Micah has been an extremely valuable member of our program the last two years,” said head coach Fred Hoiberg in a release. “He is a very organized and driven individual who will flourish in his new role as Director of Operations.”

Byars is a native of Gainesville, Fla.
