Iowa State hosted four official visitors over the weekend. Two of them committed.

If you go strictly off of offer lists alone, Damien Lawry, a 6-foot, 175-pound prospect out of Dallas (Texas) A Maceo Smith, will be one of the headliners of Iowa State’s 2012 recruiting class. According to his database profile at Rivals.com, the three-star prospect boasts offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Arkansas, Baylor, Cal, Clemson, Colorado, Colorado State, Houston, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kansas State, Notre Dame, TCU, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Utah.

Rivals.com ranks Lawry as the 39th best "athlete" in the 2012 class.

Iowa State also added depth to its situation at linebacker over the weekend with the commitment of Darius White, a 6-foot-1, 230-pound prospect out of Bradenton (FL) Manatee H.S..

According to White’s profile at Rivals.com, he has additional offers from Indiana, Florida International, Florida Atlantic, Central Florida and Western Kentucky.
