Williams Blog: 4-21 hoops notebook

By Chris Williams, Publisher

I think that we all know that it is going to be active next couple weeks for the Iowa State men’s basketball program. Here are a few notes to chew on this afternoon.

KCCI in Des Moines is now reporting that Iowa Energy head coach Nick Nurse has been offered the associate head coach job at Iowa State. This is no surprise. We’ve been discussing this story for weeks.

Here are a few new names that I’ve come up with recruiting wise for Iowa State’s potential 2010 spring class.

Calvin Godfrey – A 6-foot-7 power forward out of Robbinsdale Cooper Sr. in New Hope, Minn.

Another possibility but long shot is Eric McKnight, a 6-foot-9, 210-pound post.

In another note, 2011 Cedar Rapids Jefferson prospect Jarrod Uthoff will be on campus for a visit tomorrow.

Discuss that story HERE.
